California Seminary to Host “Truth and Love”
"Truth and Love" -a biblical approach to homosexuality, will be held at Golden Gate Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, CA Friday and Saturday, September 24 - 25. The event is free & open to the public.
New Hope Ministries, under the direction of Ron Smith, is sponsoring this first ever event that is expected to draw a huge crowd of students and persons from the San Francisco Bay area.
Speakers include Cross Ministry founder/director Tim Wilkins, who has spoken for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and written for or been featured in Preaching magazine, Christian Post, The Washington Times, Chicago Tribune, and Facts and Trends.
Bob Stith, the Director of Gender Issues for The Southern Baptist Convention http://www.sbcthewayout.com has spoken across the country on how churches can better address this issue. Stith, who confesses to having been a "red neck Baptist preacher" came to the realization years ago that the way he preached on homosexuality would not likely make him approachable to anyone affected by same-sex attractions. His "epiphany" has both softened his
heart and warmed it. He speaks with compassion and passion.
